I have not long returned from a birding and natural history tour to India - my sixth. We visited and travelled around Gujarat state - visiting Ahmedabad, Velvadar Blackbuck Sanctuary, Gir Forest, Ramnagar, plus the Little Rann of Kutch.
Post Gujarat, we flew to Jaipur before travelling to Bharatpur, Chambal River and, of course, the Taj Mahal.
An overnight train trip took us to the state of Madya Pradesh. Here we visited three tiger reserves, Bhavnagar, Kanha and Pench before flying north to the capitol of Delhi.
Here are some images from our first day birding in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, at Gandhi's Ashram.
